Davidson Farmer’s Market is holding a poster-design contest for young artists in grades K-5. The winning image will be featured a poster promoting the Winter Tailgate Market, which runs from November to March.
“We’re excited to see how young artists will portray the market,” said market manager Courtney Spear. “The market has always incorporated whimsical images into our posters and marketing materials. We thought this would be a great way to encourage and promote local aspiring artists while bringing a fresh look to our winter poster.”
Artists should create an image without text on 8 1/2 x 11 paper. Submissions will be accepted this Saturday, Oct. 1, at the market, next to Town Hall in downtown Davidson. Details and entry rules may be found at www.davidsonfarmersmarket.org.
The winner will be announced on the DFM Facebook page soon, and entries will be displayed later in the gallery at Davidson Town Hall.
