Two drivers were injured in an automobile crash on Concord Road in Davidson shortly after noon Monday. The crash happened around 12:15 p.m. on Concord Road, just west of the intersection with Thompson Street.
Emergency treated the two men at the scene. The driver of a grey Honda Accord was lying in the road outside of his overturned car. A second man was leaning next to his white Chevrolet Astro van, which had skidded off the road onto the lawn at 559 Concord Road.

Both men later were taken by ambulance to the hospital with unknown injuries.
A witness told DavidsonNews.net the driver of the Accord was driving erratically as he headed east on Concord Road, away from town.
“He was coming across before the crosswalk at the college (at Baker Drive) and stopped … completely,” said Chad Randolph, who was running past at the time of the crash. “Then he took off, just gunned it. And then I heard a horrible crash.”
He said the white van also appeared to be eastbound, and the Accord ran into him, then went off the side of the road rolled over. The van veered left into the grass in front of the house, narrowly missing a big oak tree.
Police confirmed later that both vehicles were eastbound. The Honda crossed the yellow double line, hit the van, then “went into a spin and flipped several times,” Detective Steve Ingram said Monday afternoon.
It wasn’t immediately clear at the scene why the man accelerated or what caused the crash. Police are asking anyone who may have seen the crash to contact them at 704-892-5131.
Concord Road was briefly closed between Thompson and Woodland streets as emergency workers responded to the accident.
