Davidson Lands Conservancy will host its annual Green Day Festival and Run for Green on the Davidson Village Green Sept. 17, and organizers seeking local businesses and organizations that want to promote “green” practices at the event.
Applications for the festival are due Aug. 22. The conservancy is seeking exhibits that model sustainable practices and promote environmental awareness.
“We’re encouraging exhibitors to inspire, educate, and/or engage participants of all ages on ‘green’ topics – from appreciating wildlife and native plants to natural alternatives to pesticides,” DLC President Pam Dykstra said in a press release.
The conservancy also needs volunteers for the event, which will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17. The festival runs alongside the annual Run for Green. This year’s Green Day will feature local entertainment and fun activities for families.
Exhibitor Applications are available online at www.davidsonlands.org. Proceeds from the 7th annual Green Day/Run for Green will benefit the Davidson Lands Conservancy’s mission to save land in the Davidson area in order to preserve a healthy, natural environment for future generations.
Volunteers are also needed to help with all aspects of Green Day. To get involved or for more information on how your business/organization can participate in this event, contact Davidson Lands Conservancy at DLCGreenDay@gmail.com or 704-892-1910.
Registration for the Run for Green half marathon, 10K and 5K races also is now open, on the DLC website.
