Community members will share stories of their ancestors May 12 in an effort to celebrate and preserve American history.

The Alexandriana Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution meets Thursday, May 12, at 11:30 a.m. at Acropolis Cafe and Grille, 20659 Catawba Ave., and members will tell the stories of their ancestors that lived during the Revolutionary War.

Daughters of the American Revolution is a nonprofit service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism and education while preserving American history. Its volunteers devote thousands of hours each year to working with veterans and fundraising for student scholarships and schools.
