Davidson freshman Richard Fountain shot the best round of the tournament – a 67 – to edge Georgia Southern’s Lewis Gruber for the individual title Tuesday at the Southern Conference golf tournament in Florence, S.C. Fountain had shot an even-72 in the second round Monday to hold a tie for the individual lead going into Tuesday’s final round at the Country Club of South Carolina.
