An eighth-grade student at Cannon School is turning a challenge from her middle school principal into a campaign to help local animals in need. Joanna Copio of Davidson has organized the “Pawz Too Run” 5K race and fair on the Village Green this Saturday, April 2.
Registration begins at 7 a.m. in front of Davidson public library, off Main Street. An Animal Adoption and Educational Fair will be on the Green from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Proceeds from the 5-K Run/dog walk and Animal Adoption Fair will benefit needy animals in the area through Friends of the Animals, which is building an animal adoption and education center.
