Democrats in Davidson Precinct 206 fell one party member short of a quorum on March 7, so they’ll meet again on Monday, March 21, to elect officers for the coming year.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at Davidson Town Hall, 216 S. Main St. The meeting is open to all registered Democrats in the precinct, who vote at Town Hall.
Democrats are required to organize their precincts every two years and elect precinct officers. Precinct officers will elect leadership of the county party organization and help with this fall’s elections for Charlotte Mecklenburg Board of Education and local Town Boards. This year also will begin the delegate selection process for the 2012 national convention, and the beginning of President Obama’s re-election campaign.
Organizers say Davidson College students who are registered in the town are encouraged to attend, as is anyone thinking about becoming a delegate to the 2012 Convention.
