Though it would be nice if a public-spirited non-profit leased it, like a church or private school, in the end, all Davidson residents would be financially supporting it. In today’s financial reality, doesn’t it make sense to pursue commercial use first as office, residential, and even retail (how about a destination farmers’-crafts market with restaurant?). Hopefully some of the smart local commercial developers are looking closely at it.
