A car was stolen from in front of a home on South Street over the weekend, and another vehicle was broken into on Beaty Street. Police are also still investigating a case of vandalism at Sabi Asian Bistro. Details on those and other incidents below.
INCIDENT REPORTS
SATURDAY, JAN. 8, 2:09 a.m., 800 block of Beaty St. – Officers responded to a report of someone breaking into a resident’s vehicle. The thief took $35 in cash from her pocketbook, along with approximately $150 worth of stereo equipment while the car was parked on the 800 block of Beaty Street. Police are still investigating one suspect.
SATURDAY, JAN. 8, 09:31 a.m., 300 block of South Street – A local woman reported that her vehicle had been stolen from in front of her house. There were no sign of a forced entry left behind at the scene, and police do not have any suspects at this time. The total value of the vehicle was estimated at $4,500. Police are still investigating.
SUNDAY, JAN. 9, 2:30 p.m., 130 Harbour Place Drive, Sabi Asian Bistro – Police received a report stating that an unknown suspect vandalized two copper gas lanterns located on the patio of the restaurant, causing an estimated $800 worth of damage.
ELSEWHERE
Two men arrested last Friday in a restaurant break-in may also be linked to a recent series of break-ins in downtown Mooresville, the Mooresville Tribune reports.
