A Christmas day snow dropped a couple of inches of snow in the area, and the snow was expected to continue on Sunday. The snow has forced some cancellations, and could affect travel plans today.

Davidson College Presbyterian Church canceled its 8:30 a.m. worship service and Sunday School. The 11 a.m. worship service will still be held.

The 8:15 a.m. service at Davidson United Methodist Church is canceled. Services at 9:30 and 11 a.m. will be held, with child care but no Sunday School.

A winter storm warning is in effect throughout the area until noon Sunday. The National Weather Service said snow is likely to continue Sunday, mainly before 10 a.m., with areas of fog before 11 a.m. For the rest of the day, it’s expected to be cloudy and windy, with a high near 33 degrees. The chance of precipitation is 70 percent, and total daytime snow accumulation of around an inch are possible.

Sunday night, it should be mostly cloudy, with a low around 18. A northwest wind will be between 9 and 15 mph.
