Daisy (Ward) Griffin, 78, of Huntersville, died Monday, Oct. 25, 2010, at Tucker Hospice House. She was born on Oct. 7, 1932 in Mecklenburg County to the late James and Johnsie Honeycutt.
She was preceded in death by husbands James Ward and Homer Griffin, as well as son Jackie Ward.
Survivors include her sons, Jim Ward and wife Judi of Concord, Robert Ward and wife Dana of Davidson, William Ward and wife Jane of Cornelius; daughter Linda Fathera of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Julie Ward of Little River, S.C.; brother, James Honeycutt, Jr. and wife Linda of Mooresville; sister, Jean Raborn of Huntersville; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, at Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Powell officiating. Interment will follow at Rockwell Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Tucker Hospice House or Tri-City Baptist Church. The family would like to thank the staff of Tucker Hospice House for their extraordinary care.
