Neil Gallagher of Davidson, a former assistant director and chief of counter-terrorism at the FBI, will speak at a meeting of the Davidson Senior Scholars Tuesday, Oct. 12, at 10:30 a.m. at the Davidson Parks & Rec offices.
Mr. Gallagher is back by popular demand for a second visit to the group. This time he’ll be speaking on “Understanding Today’s Terrorism Threat.” He’ll draw from his experience as chief of counter-terrorism in the 1990s and explore how law enforcement agencies have adapted to current realities.
In January, Mr. Gallagher spoke to the scholars about his role in the 2001 arrest of traitor Robert Hanssen. (See our report on Mr. Gallagher’s previous talk at the Senior Scholars, “Seniors hear tales from ex-FBI official Gallagher”.)
Davidson Senior Scholars offer free programs twice monthly, on the second and fourth Tuesdays, from 10:30 to noon. (Note that the day and time have changed from last spring’s meetings.) Meetings are in Room A of the Parks & Recreation offices, 416 Armour St.
