The NC DOT’s summer repaving of Concord Road took away a big sign of local team spirit, the giant Wildcat paw print at the entrance to the Davidson College sports facilities at Baker Drive. On Monday, workers restored the pavement marking, or rather upgraded it to the new paw design that is part of the college’s new family of Wildcat logos.

2009 Wildcat paw was lost in repaving this summer.
The previous red wildcat paw had been installed in the same spot in 2009. See background in our Feb. 2009 article.
