Mr. Walker told DavidsonNews.net he will start work on Aug. 2, as a captain overseeing Community Services for the department’s District 1.
The appointment makes Mr. Walker second-in-command of the department’s north campus patrol, including the college campus and University of Chicago Medical Center.
His duties will include planning, coordinating, and developing programming and collaborative initiatives. He says he’ll also work closely with the deputy chief who oversees District 1.
