Hundreds of residents and visitors came to the Village Green Friday night for the first in a planned series of Friday night Concerts on the Green this summer. The popular dance band Rough Draft entertained the crowd for more than two hours as they dined in picnics and socialized. The next concert is an Independence Day celebration on Saturday, July 3, with the ’70s group Da Throwback Band. Read on for the remaing schedule.
All concerts 6-9 p.m., on the Davidson Village Green, Main Street and Concord Road.

Friday, June 18 – Rough Draft (variety)
Saturday, July 3 – Da Throwback Band – Independence Day Celebration (70s show band)
Friday, July 16 – Alabama Blues Brothers (Blues Bros. tribute band)
Friday, Aug. 13 – Pushh (pop rock)
Friday, Sept. 10 – The Extraordinaires (variety)
Concerts are 6-9 p.m., with music beginning at 6:30 p.m. Organizers hope the addition of Fridays will spur business downtown. For more information, visit www.ci.davidson.nc.us/concerts.
