Davidson Police on Thursday arrested a 42-year-old Harrisburg woman on new charges related to the alleged embezzlement of $365,000 from Liburdi Dimetrics Corp. over the past two years.
Sandra Renee Hubbard was arrested at her home around 11:30 a.m. Thursday by Davidson Detective Steve Ingram and Sgt. Barney Poole. Ms. Hubbard was being held on a $250,000 bond at Mecklenburg County jail in Charlotte.
Ms. Hubbard is charged with one count of embezzlement and three counts of credit card fraud. On Feb. 24, Mooresville police charged her in Iredell County with four counts of felony embezzlement.
The case has been under investigation in both towns because Liburdi formerly was located on Armour Street in Davidson, but recently moved to a site on N.C. 21/Charlotte Highway in Mooresville. The company is a subsidiary of Canada-based Liburdi Group of Cos.
Police said she is accused of embezzling $292,000 from Liburdi Dimetrics between 2007 and 2009 while it was in Davidson. Mooresville police are also investigating allegations that Ms. Hubbard stole about $73,000 from the company after its move.
Police reports and arrest warrants say the money was taken via company checks and credit cards. Davidson Police Detective Steve Ingram said last month Ms. Hubbard had worked for Liburdi Dimetrics in a variety of jobs, including accounts payable. An arrest warrant in Mooresville says she was the clerk of Liburdi’s US subsidiary, LE USA Inc.
