Politically savvy college students from Elon, UNCC and Stanford will join their counterparts at Davidson College this weekend for the 2010 Bank of America Student Conference “The Global Energy Challenge.” The conference includes a Saturday night keynote speech by Jim Rogers, president and CEO of Duke Energy, who will talk about “The Energy Industry’s Search for Greener Power.”
Mr. Rogers will speak Saturday, March 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the Alvarez College Union 900 room. It is free and open to the public. Details on the college website.
Besides leading Charlotte-based Duke Energy, Mr. Rogers co-chairs the National Action Plan for Energy Efficiency and the Alliance to Save Energy. He’ll talk about the current status of solutions to the energy problem from an internationally informed perspective and will also address decisions that Duke Energy has made that have had an impact on a global scale. A Q&A will follow the lecture.
