Randy Scott England passed away at his Davidson home Dec. 13, 2009. He was 52 and worked as a systems engineer at TIAA-CREF. Services will be Saturday in Colonie, N.Y.
Mr. England was the son of Alvin G. England and the late Louise (Cornett) England of Scotia, N.Y.
He was a 1978 graduate of the State University of New York at Albany, and but believed in lifelong learning: He recently completed a master of science degree in information security. At the time of his death he was pursuing a certificate in web graphics.
He was a senior systems engineer with TIAA-CREF in Charlotte.
Of all his accomplishments, Mr. England was perhaps proudest of his service as a US Air Force officer. He was renowned for his devotion to his daughter Amanda and his beagle, Fritz, and also for his wild sense of humor.
He is survived by his daughter Amanda England of Reading, England; father Alvin England and stepmother Patricia England of Scotia, N.Y.; stepbrothers Leonard Marger (Central Bridge, N.Y.) and David Marger (Scotia, N.Y.); stepsister Dawn Marger (Duanesburg, N.Y.); and friends who will miss him greatly.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Randy’s life at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 19, at Newcomer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Animal Protective Foundation at 53 Maple Avenue, Scotia, N.Y.
