Davidson Lands Conservancy will hold its annual meeting tonight (Monday, Nov. 16), with a program that celebrates accomplishments in open space protection, looks at objectives for 2010, and includes a presentation by state Sen. Dan Clodfelter on “The Future of Land Conservation in NC.” The meeting begins at 7:15 p.m. in the Davidson Room at The Pines, 400 Avinger Lane.
The meeting also includes a report that identifies areas in Davidson which share both high development potential and high natural asset values. These areas may be a) important connectors within the community, b) adjacent to residential areas underserved by parks and open space, and c) being steadily converted to development. The study was completed by Doug Shoemaker and Brian Wise of the Center for Geospatial Science at UNC-Charlotte.
Also on the agenda: elections for officers and board members (nominees below), refreshments, and “a toast to many successes in this economically challenging year.”
