Davidson College officials conducted an evacuation drill at around 9:20 this morning, which included a test of a new campus alert system. That siren and loudspeaker announcements you may have heard are part of the test.
A spokeswoman said the drill included evacuation drills in all campus buildings. The college had notified the campus community in recent days that a test might be coming soon, she said.
