Church presents Rutter’s ‘Requiem’ Sun. at 5

Davidson United Methodist Church today (Sunday) at 5 p.m. presents an All Saints Remembrance Service featuring the Requiem of John Rutter, with full orchestra. The church’s chancel and senior high choirs have combined to present the work, using texts from the Roman Catholic Requiem Mass and 1662 Anglican Book of Common Prayer.

Organizers say they’ll  96 singers in the sanctuary, ages 15-75, along with the orchestra. Guest soprano soloists will be Jenny Giduz and Lacey Burt.

The service will feature congregational hymns, prayers, and a meditation by Dr. Jody Seymour. Childcare is available.
