A group of Davidson Day seventh and eighth graders is traveling this week with their teacher in Nova Scotia, where their trip made the local newspaper. The News, of Pictou County, Nova Scotia, reported in an article datelined New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, that the Davidson students learned about the region’s history and culture while living with host families and volunteering.
The students were with French teacher Sheena Geiger, a native of the area. The week-long trip has included visiting the Cape Breton area and experiencing Canadian Thanksgiving. “It’s pretty much the same as the American version, just a month earlier, the foods and traditions are the same,” 12-year-old Emma Brennan told the newspaper.
