An unidentified driver was treated for minor injuries at midday Wednesday after the car she was driving skidded on a wet curve and went off Grey Road. Fire, police and medical workers responded to the call, which came around 11 a.m.
The driver was headed toward Davidson in the rain on Grey Road when she came to a curve not far from the entrance to Davidson College’s Erwin Lodge. The car skidded off the road, through some trees, and into tall grass, according to a witness.
A truck carrying Davidson public works employees was behind the driver and was the first to arrive on the scene. The woman was able to get out of the car and sat in the public works truck until medical personnel arrived.
Police chief Jeanne Miller said the woman was taken to Lake Norman Regional Medical Center in Mooresville as a precaution. Chief Miller said the woman is a Davidson resident but her name was unavailable.
