TNT will broadcast Warriors in Annual NBA Outdoor Game tonight, 9:30 p.m.
In their third game of the preseason, the Golden State Warriors soundly defeated the Lakers Friday night, 110-91. Former Davidson College star Stephen Curry played just over 23 minutes and scored six points in the game. Curry was 4-4 in freethrows and made 8 assists.
The game was played in the Lakers’ former “Fabulous Forum” arena, where Magic Johnson starred in the 1980s. The Lakers now play at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles, but arranged for a homecoming-style return to the Forum, which is now owned by a church, for Friday’s game. That made the win particularly sweet for the Warriors, who held Lakers star Kobe Bryant to 15 points. According to Warriors.com, “the Lakers lost at the site of some of the franchise’s greatest victories.”
Curry played in the second and fourth quarters.
The Warriors, now 2-1 in a preseason schedule of eight games, play their first nationally televised game today (Oct. 10), starting at 9:30 p.m. Eastern time on TNT. The game is the Annual NBA Outdoors Game and will feature the Warriors facing the Phoenix Suns at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Palm Springs.
