Rev. Brooks speaks at Unitarian Fellowship Sunday

The Rev. Amy Brooks, a Unitarian Universalist minister and Huntersville resident, will speak on “Building Community” at the next meeting of the UU Fellowship of Lake Norman Sunday, Oct. 4, at Ada Jenkins Center, 212 Gamble St.
Doors open at 10:30 a.m., with the meeting starting at 11. Refreshments follow. More information is available at uulakenorman.org.
Th Rev. Brooks is an affiliated community minister with Unitarian Universalist Church of Charlotte. She will talk about the UU program called “Evensong,” a small group opportunity she will be offering on Sunday nights beginning Oct. 18, 7-9 pm.
She is a fourth generation Unitarian Universalist from western Pennsylvania. She received her B.A. in art history from Boston University and her M.Div. from Harvard Divinity School. She continued her ministerial training with a parish internship at the Eno River Fellowship in Durham, N.C., followed by a 2 year chaplain residency at Carolinas Medical Center.
Since 1995 she has worked at the Regional AIDS Interfaith Network in Charlotte in a variety of positions. She lives with her husband, daughter and two dogs in Huntersville.
