Davidson police warned local businesses Monday after an unidentified woman entered a downtown office seeking help relocating to Davidson. The woman may be harmless, the police said in an email alert, but she may also be assessing security and looking for items of value.
Here’s the text of the alert issued Monday evening:
On, Monday August 31, 2009 at approximately 2:30 p.m., a woman entered a street level office in downtown Davidson looking for assistance in “relocating”. She is white, late 40s early 50s, 5’2”, thin build, grey collar-length hair pulled behind her ears, dressed in a blue shirt with the word “Kayak” on it and a casual jacket, She claimed to be a para-legal in a witness protection program. However, she kept referring to the U.S. Secret Service as the agency running her protection. The U.S.SS does not run the witness protection program. She left when she was informed that they could not assist her.
While this individual may be completely harmless, she may also be trying to determine how much security (if any) a local business has; how many employees/customers are in the business at any given time; and assess what, if anything of value is in your business. If someone matching this description comes into your business, please dial 9-1-1 immediately.
Our officers can respond and conduct a field interview and assess the situation. For more information contact the Davidson Police Department at 704 892-5131.
