Hundreds of music lovers and picnickers came to Davidson’s Village Green Sunday evening for a Concert on the Green featuring The Stardusters big band. The music started before 6 and finished up well after 8 p.m., treating the crowd to a variety of big band, rock, patriotic and other songs.

Linda and Joe Griffeth and their family snagged the gift basket for the most “Elegant and Classy” picnic, with crystal wine glasses, flowers and a decorated table. (Photo below) They won a prize bag with gifts donated by Davidson Chocolate Co., Ben & Jerry’s, Davidson Historical Society, and Davidsonnews.net.
Tropic Culture plays the next Concert on the Green on Sept. 13, 6-8 p.m. Details in our 2009 Concerts on the Green schedule.
