
Hal Garmon
Hal Puryeare Garmon Jr., 86, of Huntersville, died Sunday, July 26, 2009, at Presbyterian Hospital Hospice Unit.
A visitation is planned Monday night, 6-8 p.m., at Raymer Funeral Home. Interment and a memorial service are Tuesday. (Details below.)
Mr. Garmon was born March 1, 1923, in Mecklenburg County to the late Hal and Pet Estelle Belk Garmon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Shepherd Garmon, and grandson, Roland Taylor Barnhardt Jr.
Survivors include his sons, Hal Garmon III and wife Terry of Davidson, David Garmon and wife Kathy of Lincolnton and Joe Garmon and wife Sonya of Lincolnton; daughters, Emilie Barnhardt and husband Roland of Winston-Salem and Linda Garmon of Wingate; 11 grandchildren, Hal, Toby, Justin, Bonnie, Shep, Joseph, Bailey, Christin, Mary, Sarah, and Rebecca; 6 great-grandchildren; dear friend, Betsy Fitch of Sunset Beach; loving caregivers, Pat and Lerry Lyles and ReRe Beal.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Lake Norman’s staff for their great care.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday night at the funeral home. Interment will be Tuesday, July 28, at 10:30 a.m. in Hopewell Presbyterian Church cemetery, Huntersville. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church, with Rev. J.E. Wayland Jr. and Rev. Roland Barnhardt officiating.
