Former Davidson College basketball standout Stephen Curry has signed a contract with the NBA’s Golden State Warriors, the team announced Wednesday. The dollar amount and length of the contract were not disclosed.
The California-based Warriors picked Mr. Curry seventh overall in last month’s league draft.
The 6 foot, 3 inch guard gets down to work with the Warriors this week. The team said in a press release he will play for the Warriors at the 2009 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.
Mr. Curry, 21, in April announced a decision to skip his senior year at Davidson and enter the NBA draft. Last year, as a junior, he led the nation in scoring with 28.6 points per game.
During his three-year career as a Wildcat, Mr. Curry played in 104 games, averaging 25.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.13 steals per game.
