Brian and Renee Needleman celebrate with their family as winners of the Beach Blanket Bingo picnic contest at Sunday's Concert on the Green.
The weather was hot and so was the music by the Band of Oz at Sunday’s Concert on the Green. The fifth Concert on the Green featured the favorite beach music band playing everything from Beach Boys to Motown.
Brian and Renee Needleman and their family donned their best Hawaiian shirts and hula skirts and set their picnic scene complete with palm trees to become the winners of the picnic contest, which was themed “Beach Blanket Bingo.”
Downtown Davidson Inc.’s next Concert on the Green will be on Saturday, July 4, featuring the R&B sounds of Rough Draft. The concert will begin one hour earlier than usual, at 5 p.m. There will be a special area with children’s amusements in celebration of the Fourth.
