Non-profit groups in the Charlotte area are awaiting news today from the United Way of Central Carolinas about grants for 2009-2010. For some, the news could determine what programs continue, and what programs are shut.
Leaders of local agencies that receive United Way money, including Davidson’s Ada Jenkins Center, said they expected to get phone calls late this morning. A public announcement is expected early this afternoon.
Keep up with the evolving story of the region’s non-profit funding situation, as well as ways to help, through the Charlotte Mission Possible project. It’s a collaboration between a group of media outlets.
