The Davidson Planning Department will host a public workshop Wednesday, June 24, at 4 p.m. to discuss potential uses of two large undeveloped parcels off Beaty Street, in the area north of Griffith Street. The workshop begins at 4 p.m. at Davidson Town Hall, 216 S. Main St.
Besides planning officials, the meeting will include representatives of GHD Consulting, a consulting firm that has volunteered to help the town. The workshop Wednesday will seek input and discussion about a 19-acre property owned by Ralph and Harriet Clontz and a 17-acre parcel owned by the town.
The two properties were discussed earlier this year as the town held public meetings to help develop a North of Griffith Small Area Plan.
In a notice this week, planners said, “While there is no current development planned, this is an ideal time to discuss the future of the area from a multi-disciplined approach. Experts in the areas of environmental protection, transportation, infrastructure, sustainability, urban design, park design and architecture will gather to draft a sustainable portrait of how the two sites may develop and/or remain preserved.”
The meeting is open to the public. For more information, call Sandy Kragh in the Planning Department, 704-892-7592, or email her at skragh@ci.davidson.nc.us.
