Someone drove onto the golf course at River Run Country Club late Tuesday or early Wednesday, resulting in about $2,000 damage.
At about 8:45 Wednesday, the superintendent at River Run Country Club told police an unknown driver came onto the course and damaged landscaping. Police are investigating.
Saturday, June 20, bike route. Expect some traffic delays after 10 a.m.
TRAFFIC ALERT
The Cowbell Challenge marathon mountain bike race may result in traffic delays on Saturday, June 20. The race begins on South Street at 10 a.m. and continues onto the Greenway then Pine Road and Grey Road to Shearer Road. It winds up at Fisher Farm Park, off Shearer Road.

TUESDAY, JUNE 9 – A 26-year-old white male was arrested on Westside Terrace and charged on a warrant alleging embezzlement by an employee.
SUNDAY, JUNE 14 – At around midnight, a 40-year-old driver reported that another driver threw an object at his car while he was driving west in the area of 1200 Concord Road. He said a vehicle passed him and the passenger threw something that struck the driver’s side of his car, causing $300 in damage.
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 17 – The superintendent of River Run Country Club reported someone drove a vehicle on the course, resulting in $2,000 damage.

Griffith Street – 14 for speeding, 1 for seatbelt violation, 1 for reckless driving, 1 for expired registration plate.
Main Street – 2 for speeding, 1 for passing in a no passing zone, 1 for driving while impaired.
Potts Street – 1 for failure to carry license.
East Rocky River Road – 2 for speeding, 1 expired inspection sticker.
Stanley McElrath Road – 1 man stopped for driving while license revoked, expired inspection sticker, and carrying children without car seats or proper restraints.
Jetton Street – 4 for failure to stop at stop sign, 1 for seatbelt violation, 1 for expired inspection sticker.
N.C. 73 – 1 stopped for operating a motorcycle with proper license or endorsement and speeding.
Concord Road – 1 for speeding.
Robert Walker Drive – 1 for speeding.
