St. Alban’s Episcopal Church will host what it hopes will be an annual Davidson Choir Camp, a week of song, rhythm, and fun for children in grades 2-9. It’s scheduled from July 27 to Aug. 1.
The camp is designed not only to teach and enhance music literacy skills, but to educate the whole singer through work with sight-singing, choral skills, and exposure to different musical styles, ranging from the Anglican repertoire to Gospel and African music.
The session concludes with a performance by all participants on Saturday, Aug. 1 at 2 p.m. The camp is open to two age groups: Primary Level (rising 2nd to 5th graders) and Secondary Level (rising 6th to 9th graders). No prior choir experience necessary for either course.
Weekday sessions run from 9 am to 3 pm. Cost for the week is $30 per child. For more information or to request a registration form, contact Henry Lebedinsky at hlebedinsky@gostalbans.org.
