Did you lose a wad of cash on Main Street Wednesday? Passersby found “a rather large amount of cash” on the sidewalk between Toast Cafe and the Soda Shop around 11:50 a.m. It has been turned in to the Davidson Police Department. If it’s yours, it may be claimed by identifying the exact amount.
Police said they will hold the cash for six months. If it’s unclaimed, by law it would be returned to those who found it. Call the Davidson Police Department at 704-892-5131 or visit the department at Town Hall, 216 S. Main St.
FRIDAY APRIL 29 – Shortly after 2 p.m., a golfer at River Run Country Club reported that someone stole a golf bag from his golf cart.
MONDAY, MAY 4 – Shortly after 9:30 a.m., a driver crashed head-on into a parked landscaping truck on Greyton Lane, in the River Run neighborhood. The crash threw a worker from the truck. He was treated at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. Details in our May 4 news item.

Griffith Street – 11 citations for speeding, 1 for no operator’s license, one for an expired registration late, two for seatbelt violations.
Beaty Street – 1 citation for speeding.
East Rocky River Road – 3 for speeding, 1 for no insurance.
Main Street – 1 for failure to stop at a stop sign, 1 for no operator’s license and speeding, 1 for expired registration plate.
Jetton Street – 1 for driving while license revoked, 1 for failure to notify police of an accident.
River Ford Drive (River Run) – 4 for speeding, 1 expired inspection sticker.
I-77 – 1 expired registration plate and 1 expired inspection sticker.
