Davidson Reads, the townwide program that invites citizens to share a book through reading and events, still needs your vote to pick this year’s title. The choice will be announced on Town Day, May 2.
Three titles are in the running. You can cast your ballot online at www.ci.davidson.nc.us, at Main Street Books, Davidson Public Library, Town Hall, or the Davidson Parks & Recreation Office on Armour Street.

I would like to urge everyone to vote for Elizabeth Gilbert’s “Eat, Pray, Love.” Not only is it a great read, but Gilbert is coming to Davidson College on Oct. 26th, 2009 to give the Reynold’s Lecture with her sister, Catherine Gilbert Murdock. Murdock is the author of several highly acclaimed young adult novels, including “Dairy Queen” and “Princess Ben.” I’d love to see Davidson reading “Eat, Pray, Young,” while young-adult Davidson reads “Dairy Queen,” so that Davidson residents of all ages can enjoy the sisters as they discuss their work and interview one another on stage in October!
