Davidson’s men’s basketball team travels to California today for a second-round game in the National Invitation Tournament against St. Mary’s. Tip-off is at 8:30 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time (11:30 p.m. EDT), and the game will air on ESPN2.
The Wildcats, led by the nation’s top scorer Stephen Curry, beat South Carolina 70-63 on March 17 to advance in the NIT. They have a 27-7 record on the season.
St. Mary’s will host the game at its 3,500-seat McKeon Pavillion in Moraga, Calif., east of San Francisco. The Gaels have a 27-6 record, including a 14-1 record on their home court. Their only loss at home this year was to Gonzaga. They also lost to Gonzaga in the championship game of the West Coast Conference tournament.
(Gonzaga is now making its way through the NCAA tournament, and plays North Carolina on Friday.)
Mr. Curry, who was named first-team All-American last week, leads the nation in scoring, averaging 28.7 points per game. He had 32 against South Carolina.
