Neil Lerner is a Davidson College music and humanities professor who in recent years has taken up collecting old Edison phonographs and wax cylinder recordings from the 1890s to the 1920s. This weekend, he’ll join other local collectors at the Carolina Antique Music and Phonograph Show in Mooresville. DavidsonNews.net‘s David Boraks talked to Lerner about his collection and the history of recordings.
