The theater matinee trip is Wednesday, April 1, 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., at the Barn Dinner Theater. “Church Basement Ladies” takes a look at a church basement kitchen, where problems are solved including plans for a Lutefisk Dinner, a funeral, an Easter fund raiser, and, a wedding.
On April 17, from 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., the department plans a bus trip to Harrah’s Casino & Hotel in Cherokee, N.C. And on April 28, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., a tour is planned to Seagrove, east of Davidson, one of the largest communities of potters with the longest continual history of pottery making in the U.S.
The department also has programs for pre-schoolers, contra dancing Friday, April 3, at the Davidson IB School gym, an archery class with Sterling Martin, and more. For details, visit www.d-Recs.org.
