On senior night, Wildcat women fall to Samford

Davidson College’s women’s basketball team fell to Samford, 78-67, Monday night on senior night, its final home game of the regular season at Belk Arena. The loss dropped Davidson 10 wins and 16 losses overall and 9-8 in the Southern Conference.
The win was the fourth in a row for Samford, which now stands at 21-4 and 16-2 in the league.
Ashley Lax and Julie Paquette had 14 points each for Davidson, while seniors Mercedes Robinson and Mandy Halbersleben had 10 points each.
The Wildcats play their last three games of the season away, beginning with Saturday’s 3 p.m. match-up against Georgia Southern in Statesboro, Ga.
