Davidson basketball coach Bob McKillop announced today that X-rays on Stephen Curry’s left ankle are negative, and the junior guard’s status remains day-to-day with a sprained ankle. Curry twisted the ankle during the second half of his team’s victory over Furman Saturday.
The Wildcats did not practice Sunday because it is their scheduled off day. Curry will sit out practice Monday.

“Stephen is very resilient, and he has already gotten terrific care from our medical team,” said McKillop. “We will monitor his progress on a day-to-day basis.”

Curry suffered the injury midway through the second half of Davidson’s 75-60 Southern Conference victory at Furman Saturday afternoon and did not return. He drove down the right side of the lane and stepped on the foot of Furman forward Noah States.

Davidson led 60-55 at the time of the injury and outscored Furman 15-5 the rest of the way for its 22nd victory of the season and 15th Southern Conference win. The Wildcats return to action when they host The Citadel Wednesday at 7 p.m.
