Dozens of students, schoolkids and others interested in Asian culture rang in the Lunar New Year Sunday night with festivities on the Davidson College campus.
The college’s student-run Asian Cultural Awareness Association sponsored an evening of food, music, and a kung-fu demonstration at the Alvarez College Union. Then with a drum beating loudly, lion dancers from Hung Gar Kung Fu Academy in Mooresville led the crowd out onto the Chambers Building lawn for a fireworks display.
