Rona Munro
On Thursday, Feb. 5, Charlotte Writers’ Club North will welcome the distinguished British playwright Rona Munro as its speaker. Ms. Munro’s appearance is co-sponsored by Davidson Community Players, and will be at 7 p.m. at the newly renovated Armour Street Theater, Armour and Watson streets.
Ms. Munro was born in Aberdeen Scotland, and writes for stage, film, radio and television. She holds an honors degree in history from Edinburgh University, and in 1994 received a Golden Globe nomination for best foreign film for “Ladybird, Ladybird.”
She first came to Davidson in 2008 in conjunction with the Royal Shakespeare Co. residency, and her collaboration with Davidson students during that time resulted in the writing and production of the play “Little Eagles,” which will open the RSC’s 2011 season.
Ms. Munro is currently the visiting McGee Professor of Writing at Davidson College.
A wine and cheese reception will follow, and guests are welcome. For more information, please visit our website at www.charlottewritersclub.org.
