As the N.C. Research Campus in Kannapolis develops in the coming years, growth is expected to continue in a broad area east of Davidson, along N.C. 3 between Kannapolis and Mooresville. Planners are trying to draw up guidelines for growth in the N.C. 3 corridor and they’ll hold followup public workshops later this month in Kannapolis on a Transportation and Land Use Study.
The meetings, organized by Centralina Council of Governments, Cabarrus County and the City of Kannapolis, will be Jan. 22 from 4 to 5:30 and 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Bethpage Presbyterian Church, 6020 Mooresville Road, Kannapolis.
Organizers said in an announcement this week that residents and property owners will be able to comment on how they think the corridor should develop over the next 10 to 15 years.
