Davidson beat Appalachian State 70-52 Monday night in Boone, raising its record to 12-3 overall and 5-0 in the Southern Conference. The Wildcats used a four-man scoring attack against the Mountaineers, led by Stephen Curry with 16 points. Curry sat out more than half the game because of foul trouble; he ended the game with 4 fouls.
Appalachian State’s Kellen Brand led all scorers with 21 points. His team is now 6-7 overall and 3-2 in the conference.
For the Wildcats, Will Archambault and Max Paulhus Gosselin both had 14 points and Brendan McKillop added 13. Bryant Barr had 7 points and Andrew Lovedale had six. It was the Cats’ 35th straight victory in the conference.
ELON WEDNESDAY A SELLOUT
Davidson is back at home Wednesday, facing Elon University at 7 p.m. in another sold-out game at Belk Arena. The game will broadcast on TV, via Mid-Atlantic Sports Network, as well as radio: 1350 and 610 AM and 95.7 FM.
