A Christmas “Angel Tree” organized by Davidson police and firefighters has helped out some local families in need this holiday. The departments sponsor the Angel Tree, soliciting gifts, gift cards and money. Sgt. Scott MIsenheimer (second from left in the photo) along with other officers and firefighters delivered the gifts as well as holiday meals, and even took some local children shopping to buy gifts for their parents, according to Rebecca Clark, of Davidson Village Inn, who was among those working on the project last week. About 35 families — all who requested — received gifts from the Angel Tree, while volunteers were able to provide hams and other food to about 20 families. Businesses and individuals that helped with this year’s gifts and food included Rose & Associates, Food Lion in Cornelius, the Davidson Village Inn, Jill Lake, Galway Companies, Dawn Blobaum and Virginia Wiese.
