Stephen Curry scored 44 points, including a three-pointer and a pair of key free throws with four seconds left, to help 24th-ranked Davidson defeat N.C. State, 72-67, on Saturday at Time Warner Arena in Charlotte.
Andrew Lovedale had 14 ponts and Steve Rossiter added 13 points and 10 rebounds as the Wildcats improved to 6-1 on the year.

For N.C. State, Brandon Costner had 18 points, and Ben McCauley scored 16 in the first loss of the season for State, now 4-1.
Davidson was behind by four, 41-37, at halftime, but rallied to outscore N.C. State in the second half.
CURRY ‘DAZZLES’ LeBRON
Curry, who is the nation’s leading scorer, turned in what AP sports writer Mike Cranston called “a dazzling performance.” Curry’s friend, NBA star LeBron James, was in the audience, and couldn’t stay in his seat as he watched, Cranston wrote.
