Wooden Stone will host a drop-in workshop about public art on Tuesday, Dec. 2, from 4-8 p.m. as part of its own public art project – a stone bench – that is being installed in front of the gallery, 445 South Main St. If you’re interested, you can put in your two cents on the design of a series of carved stone motifs on the bench.
Wooden Stone is building the stone bench for public use, facing South Main Street. It will be constructed of Tennessee fieldstone and imported sandstone, and will feature hand-carved panels by Dean Reganess of Coralatavii Stone Carving in Mooresville. The artist will be on hand to answer questions about the project and to brainstorm ideas for the stone panels. He invites your suggestions and ideas, and will
have samples of previous work available to help spark ideas.
