More than 50 vendors – twice as many as last year – have signed up to sell their food and wares at this year’s Christmas in Davidson festival, scheduled Dec. 4-6, 6-9 p.m. nightly.

This year’s Christmas in Davidson is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever. Downtown Davidson Inc. is expecting more than 20,000 visitors over the three nights.

Opening ceremonies begin Thursday, Dec. 4, at 6 p.m. on the Village Green and conclude with the arrival of Santa on a Davidson Fire Engine at 6:30 p.m.

Local choirs, performing arts groups, big bands and more will fill the Village Green each night with performances. Look for live entertainment at exit 30 and South Main Street as well. Santa will be back again this year, meeting children in the community room of the public library. As always, there will be horse drawn carriage and hay wagon rides, a live nativity scene, strolling Victorian carolers, and more. Trolleys and trams will be available each night to get you where you want to go around town.

New food vendors have been added and include Guy’s Greek Food, Big Butt BBQ, The Grill Sergeant, Hungry Howie’s pizza, Frank Hitselberger’s funnel cakes and kettle korn, along with locals Toast and Woodlawn School.
