Charlotte Area Transit System officials reminding commuters not to park in Sadler Square or other private parking lots downtown while using the 77X commuter bus from Davidson to Charlotte. In an alert to riders, system officials said on-street parking is available along Griffith and Jackson streets.

With gas scarce and prices high it is not surprising to find so many new people riding the bus.  Unfortunately, for businesses along the 77X route in Davidson, many of the riders have taken to using private parking areas for commuter parking.  We want our riders to know that parking on private property can be a problem, and CATS cannot keep your car from being towed.

Please be a good neighbor and park in the public spaces along Griffith and Jackson Streets and on the grass at the north end of the depot building in Davidson, and please allow the businesses to keep their spaces open for the customers they serve.
